A charming true vintage 1930's dress in sheer ivory lace.
Features short ruched sleeves and bodice plus long sash belt, shoulder pads, scalloped waist and godets to the hem. Closes at the side with poppers / press studs, which were in common usage during this period. Unlined lace evening dresses were incredibly popular in the Thirties but it was the norm for women to wear long under slips underneath for a fluid style.
This sheer nineteen thirties' dress may be nearly 100 year's old but the style made a comeback several years ago (yet again!) gracing red carpets and catwalks. Unsurprisingly, 90s does 30s designs are also having a moment.
This antique dress has been gently hand washed several years ago and came out an ivory colour - a little uneven and darker where the seams - SEE CLOSE UPS for a better idea of colour. Another gentle soak would lift the colour even further, I'm sure. Would look pretty over a full satin slip in a warm peach or soft pink.

Bust: 30 inch
Shoulders: 13 1/2 inch
Waist: 22 inch (stretches to 26 but you wouldn't want to stress the fabric beyond this).
Hip: 36 inch
Length: 57 inch
The measurements are taken with the garment laid flat but the fabric has a little give so you could add a couple of inches to the above.
Condition: Very good overall with slightly uneven colouring. No rips or holes found.
All vintage items have been pre-used, unless stated otherwise, and may have gentle signs of wear.
