This is a 1930s evening gown made in a full length with black silk chiffon and lace. This 1930s evening gown is constructed with a lace inset chiffon layer over a black silk base fabric. The sleeves are made in a below-the-elbow length, inset with lace and ruched along the outer side. The lace is made with a repeating pinwheel shape that covers the bodice and cascades down the centre front of the dress. The upper back is lined with a fleshtone chiffon, which creates a semi-nude effect and has a lace panel down either side of the back. The dress has a V shaped neckline and is cut so that the skirt falls in drapes. This 1930s evening gown has a multi-snap closure at the left side. There are loops for a belt, although a belt is unnecessary - it would depend on your preference, but no belt is provided.

Age: 1930s

Label: Slenderline

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this 1930s evening gown should fit a large size, please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 15 1/2” across from one shoulder/sleeve seam to the other shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 17 1/2” along the outer edge

Bust: 42” around, taken under the sleeves

Waist: 36” around

Hips: 42” around

Length: 58”, measured flat

Condition: This 1930s evening gown is in very good condition except for a pinhead sized hole in the chiffon at the neckline (see last close-up photo). This is probably due to the original owner wearing a brooch or flower pinned in that area. It also looks to me as if they may have stitched the neckline to make it more modest - you can either leave it as is or undo it, according to your preference. Otherwise, very clean, looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years - nice to find a dress of this era in such good condition.

This is a gorgeous 1930s evening gown - beautiful quality fabric and lace, attractive style, unusual to find a 1930s evening gown in a large size like this…..

Great series!
Format: Kindle
I absolutely loved this entire series. All of the stories were lovely & very "real". I have read several books by all of these authors but none have been quite like these three. There was an extra sentiment of sunny & joy in these books. I don't know if it was the setting (the Cotwolds are such a delight) or they were all just "in the zone" but it was a delightful experience. Highly recommend!!

A little dissappointed
Format: Kindle
I expected more umph or something from this book written by this author. The book is generic and not memorable at all. However, I do appreciate the author's time and effort she put into writing this and I wish her all the best. Happy Reading to you

Fantastic!
Format: Kindle
There is much to love about this story. The setting is wonderful, with picturesque descriptions of the beautiful English village where most of the story takes place; a cast of fun, quirky characters who come to life as the chapters go by; and a fantastic pair of leading ladies with chemistry to spare. But what truly stands out is the sharp, witty banter between the characters throughout the story. Frequently writers will have strong dialog between the protagonists, but T. B. Markinson has managed to write an entire story full of brilliantly crafted dialog between all of the characters, leading to so many great moments that are humorous, emotional, witty, sarcastic, etc... It is a fantastic story to read. I received an ARC copy of this book.

Sweet small town romance.
Format: Kindle
This was a sweet love story. I enjoyed the chemistry between Josie and Harry and their banter. This was the first book I've read by this author and I'll be finding more of her books. Very enjoyable read

Well Done!
Format: Kindle
You just can’t go wrong with a T.B Markinson book, The first in this series starts of with two wayward souls that meet by chance in a quaint little town of Cotswolds village. Needless to say, fate brings them together in the most craziest situation... which never goes well when your dealing with a meddling family and it’s drama. Needles to say the author does a great job creating plenty of banter and word play between the two main characters. You can’t help but root for the two and pray they figure things out to give them a HEA...I can’t wait for the next two books in this series by two more of my favorite authors.
