Excellent presentation of the rationale and the underlying theory behind the approach. I particularly like the presentation of the first six sessions.     What the authors fails to say is that doing couples work where domestic violence is active is illegal in some cases and against standards of practice in most others. Not only might a clinician be increasing a client to dangerous relationship situations by conducting couples work where IPV is present, they are increasing their exposure to litigation. Let's not forget, this is the same APA who turned a blind eye to torture in the "war on terrorism."
