pink silk dress vintage c. 1905-1907 Pink Silk Dress – Witchy VintageStunning bright pink silk dress with black lace circa 1905 1907. I just love the vibrant colors and interesting pattern, as well as the contrasting black lace on the bodice and skirt. The balloon sleeves are three quarter length with more fitted cuffs. The woman I purchased this dress from said it used to be in a museum, and it is certainly a museum quality piece! The colors of the silk are still so bright and the wavy striped pattern is quite unique.

The colors of the silk are still so bright and the wavy striped pattern is quite unique.
Bodice has an inner lining with boning. It was made slightly larger in recent years with some added fabric. Inner lining fastens down the center front with hooks and eyes and the silk front closures are hook and thread.
The collar is attached and fastens with hooks and eyes in the back.
Skirt is lined with a wonderful pink cotton with ruffles at the bottom.

Lovely condition overall for her age with some minor flaws to note:
- Some fabric was added to the bodice lining in recent years to increase the size, but this is not seen with displayed
- There are a few small/minor tears in the silk, namely in the underarms and around the waistline, but these do not show with displayed
- A few of the hooks and eyes appear to have been replaced in recent years
- Some lace breaks and separation, namely in the collar area and on the skirt
- A few very faint stains, namely one on the front of the skirt, barely visible
Overall this piece has been wonderfully preserved and is beautiful for display, study, or inspiration.
I would not recommend wearing this piece due to the age and nature of older silk (though the silk is quite strong still, it is old and thin and may tear with wear), however it is sturdy and can be handled with care.
