Rental Information

Rental Durations 

There are multiple rental durations available to suit various budgets and competition schedules. Costumes can not be reserved in advance. Your rental duration commenses 5 business day after the costume has been shipped.

 

Rental costumes are ONLY available to customers WITHIN AUSTRALIA


Rental Contract 

After completing your purchase, a PDF file will be available for download on your order summary, as well as emailed to you. This PDF file outlines the full terms and conditions of the hire. This document is required to be filled in, signed and return emailed prior to shipping the costume. 

The complete and signed rental contract is required to be return emailed to DMDC ([email protected]) prior to shipping or pickup. 

Returns

All costumes (including accessories) must be returned to DMDC on or before the rental end date. Please contact us for the return shipping address.

The costume will have been provided to the customer in appropriate packaging to ensure safe transport. The customer must return all items in the same manner.

The customer is responsible for chosen return methods and payments. Tracking numbers must be provided to the company when the returning package has been lodged with the relevant postal operator (e.g. Australia Post).

Please contact us via Instagram or Email upon completion of your hire for the return address. 

If a customer does not return the costume on or before the prescribed end date, then the customer will incur a Late Fee of $10.00 per day until such time as the costume is returned.  The customer may request an extension of time to return the costume. However, such a request must be made as soon as possible prior to the end date of this Agreement.  Additionally, approval of any extension request is at the discretion of DMDC.

Debt recovery charges will be levied against this account if costume/s are not returned.


Bond

Each rental costume includes a $100 bond per costume in the listed price. 

 

Normal wear and tear on costumes is expected and will not incur additional charges. Damages beyond normal wear and tear will incur additional fees (‘Damage Fee’) causing the customer to forfeit part or all of the Bond, depending on the degree of damage. 

  • DO NOT attempt to clean or launder the costume (including any accessories) without the express prior consent of DMDC.
  • DO NOT eat, drink (other than water) or smoke in the costume.
  • DO NOT attempt to alter the costume in any way. 
  • DO NOT attach sticky labels, badges or tape of any kind to any part of the costume.
  • DO NOT pin, sew, glue or iron the costume.
  • DO wear appropriate undergarments while using the costume to protect the piece as much as possible.

 

The bond may be recovered as follows:

  1. A full refund of the Bond will be issued to the customer’s nominated account within 10 business days from the date the costume is received by DMDC, provided all the costume and any accessories are returned on time and in the proper condition (i.e. without damage and in appropriate packaging); or
  2. Any additional fees incurred by the customer will be deducted from the Bond. The remaining amount, if any, will then be issued to the customer’s nominated account within 10 business days from the date the costume is received by DMDC.

 

Cleaning

DMDC confirms the costume (including any accessories) will be clean and in good repair at the time of collection/ shipment to the customer. Please DO NOT attempt to clean or launder the costume yourself. This includes any attempt to dry clean, machine wash, hand wash, bleach and/or tumble dry the costume (or any accessories). All DMDC costumes are delicately hand washed upon return to ensure hygiene is maintained. 


Alterations

DMDC does not permit the customer to alter the costume (including accessories) in any way. The customer therefore MAY NOT cut, dye, or paint the costume. Additionally, tape, iron-on bonding-web, glue or any other type of adhesives MAY NOT be used on the costume.

The costume and any accessories must be returned in their original condition. If a costume is returned with alterations, fees will be charged. Such fees will be deducted from the Bond.

 

Copyright

The costume subject to this Agreement is protected under Australian copyright law. All rights not granted to the customer herein are expressly reserved by DMDC as the copyright owner. Accordingly, the customer is prohibited from reproducing (i.e. copying), either wholly or in part, the costume design. Failure to comply will result in legal action being taken against any offending parties. 


Damaged of Lost Costume Fees

Normal wear and tear on costumes is expected and will not incur additional charges. Damages beyond normal wear and tear will incur additional fees (‘Damage Fee’) causing the customer to forfeit part or all of the Bond, depending on the degree of damage. 

Damages that will incur a Damage Fee includes broken zippers, detached garment pieces, make-up/ other permanent stains, and any other damage that renders the costume incapable of being rented. The Damage Fee includes the cost of any supplies needed to restore the garment to its original condition as well as labour costs. 

Major damage to costumes, including irreparable tears or irreversible marks that are beyond reasonable repair (i.e. cigarette burns, permanent stains, excessive rips) will result in forfeiture of the entire Bond amount.

Additionally, the full Bond amount will be forfeited in the event that a costume is returned to DMDC with one or more items missing, or where the costume is not returned to DMDC by the rental end date.


Debt recovery charges will be levied against this account if costume/s are not returned.

Going into this story, I did not realize that it was going to be a retelling of Arthurian legend, especially not one with a fantastical twist! The unique spin almost gave me The Witcher vibes and I think adding Fae into the mix was quite interesting. I knew the basics of the legend but after reading this book, it has piqued my interest and makes me want to learn more about it. My attention was snatched as soon as I finished the prologue and I knew that I was going to devour this story. I truly enjoyed the gender swaps and even how Arthur was portrayed as villainous. Morgan’s past and even her parts of her present is absolutely heartbreaking, and I felt for her at times. I can only recall one other book that made me hate characters the way I despised Florian and Arthur, leaving me with my blood boiling and feeling disgusted. Even after finishing the book, Draven is still a mystery to me and I cannot figure out how to feel about him. I guess they just means that the author did an excellent job at conveying each character’s persona! The rich world building and imagery made it easy for me to visualize the places that the group visited along their journey. I am truly engulfed in this story and I cannot wait to see wait fate awaits Morgan and how the Fae will be even more incorporated in the next book!. I loved this book! Queen of Roses is an Arthurian-inspired dark romantasy that is the first book in the Blood of Fae series. The story follows Morgan, the princess of Camelot who is rumored to be part fae. Fueled by prejudiced hatred and a mistrust of fae blood, Morgan’s abusive father strips her of her birthright and hands it to her half-brother, Arthur. Instead of becoming queen, Morgan is commanded to join the temple of the goddesses when she comes of age. However, Arthur turns into a psychopathic, power-hungry, fae-hating king as he ages. He develops malevolent plans and commands Morgan to find an ancient weapon with legendary power. Although Morgan is wary of Arthur’s intentions, she embraces the opportunity to go on a journey and potentially change her fate. The story picks up from there and we follow Morgan on her quest to find the ancient relic. It’s full of high stakes adventure, mystery, tension, banter, forced proximity, hidden magic, self discovery, and betrayal. This first installment of the series intricately develops the world building and character development. There’s little romance in this book, but it is evident that it is a slow burn that will continue to develop throughout the remainder of the series. Overall, I loved the world building, the epic fantasy, Morgan’s journey of self discovery, and all of the twists and turns that set the stage for the future installments. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Arthurian Fae Quest…say less.

A fae centered Arthurian tale unlike any I’ve read so far. The author did a great job at descriptive world building, with scenes easily playing out in my minds eye. There was plenty of action, suspense, and even a touch of horror. An enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, a quest, with plot twist and turns aplenty. There was a love triangle, which I’m not usually a fan of but, it played out well in this story line. The FMC, Morgan Pendragon, was so blatantly naïve, yet I typically expect as much in a ‘book one’ of a series, especially one that features a fairly sheltered princess. I was happy to read that in spite of this, she still showed a strong sense of morals, fire, and spine. Now our MMC? Kairos Draven, aka Void’s Edge. Oh, how I’m a sucker for a smoking’ hot grumpy warrior alpha with a witty mouth, and a strong sense of “touch her and die” attitude, so you know who held all my cards. That ending? Just made me swoon all the harder. Now add a battlecat that rivals the size of a horse…and well Ms. Briar Boleyn you have well and truly stolen my heart. I’m excited to see where the story goes from here, and follow along to see more of the characters growth. I went into this story fairly blind, and I think I enjoyed it all the more because of it. Once the story got going, it had me in an absolute chokehold and it was difficult to put down.

3 stars Thank you Netgalley and Briar Boleyn for the ARC! A camelot/king Arthur retelling with fae. I was hooked by the idea of this book immediately and was eager to jump into this world. • slow burn • enemies to lovers • who did this to you Morgan Pendragon watched her mother die by her father's hand when she was just eight years old, hiding under the bed. Morgan is believed to have the tainted blood of the fae in her veins and is cast aside so that her fathers illegitimate son, Arthur, can become the king. She's seen his cruel treatment of the fae firsthand, so when he sends her on a journey to find a fae weapon she seizes the opportunity to do more with her life. Along the way, she finds more than she could have imagined. I don't know a whole lot about King Arthur and Camelot but I had a lot of fun with this story! The plot has some similar tropes to popular romantasy books (From blood and ash) but there's enough originality here that it doesn't feel like I'm reading a copy. I liked how the fae were different in appearance than what is typical in most fantasy books I've read. In this book they have blue hair, violet skin and a wide range of other characteristics. I thought that the world building was easy to follow and I could easily immerse myself into this world. After reading the blurb I kept wondering when she was going to go on the journey to find Excalibur and it doesn't happen until around the 45% mark. The story is a bit slow at times but starts to pick up once they begin their journey to find Excalibur. The John Wick style Inn was a fun concept that I enjoyed reading about. There are a lot of similarities to this and FBAA and I would have liked to have it be a little more different, but I'm hoping book two will have the story turn into something of its own. Overall I enjoyed reading this story and I'm looking forward to reading book two especially after that ending.
