It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage

This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It features a gathered empire waist, with long tailored sleeves that come to a point at the cuff. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.

Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. Yeah… about that. Within the first ten minutes, the giraffe’s squeaker gave up the ghost. By the thirty‑minute mark, one of our puppies had already liberated one of its appendages and was preparing to eat it. When I took the giraffe away, he immediately redirected his enthusiasm toward the mallard and removed a wing. Our other puppy went straight for the Red‑Headed Chicken’s throat. She succeeded. She was also making impressive progress on opening the back of its neck. At that point, all three toys had to be confiscated, and the remaining two are still sitting in the box untouched because I value my dogs’ digestive tracts. To be fair, the toys sound fantastic—literally. My puppies adored the squeaks, honks, and crinkles. They had a blast tossing them around and sprinting through the house. But the moment they settled down for a chew session, it was game over. I’m genuinely disappointed that these toys require constant supervision to prevent accidental ingestion, and that my dogs can’t safely enjoy them the way they’re meant to. If your dogs chew even a little, these toys are not worth the investment.
