The original M-43 service shoe that serves as the model for these was issued in 1943, with the rivetless version starting in 1944. The basic specifications for this boot were very simple. Composition sole, welted construction, natural combination-tanned rough-out cowhide, all built up on the Munson last with an unstructured toe. The goal was to have a cost-effective, durable shoe for all forms of combat conditions. Multiple variants popped up across the armed forces, including version for the Marines and the Navy, all with the same basic template.

These are made from a gorgeous heavyweight dark brown waxed flesh cowhide leather, produced by the Horween Tannery in Chicago — a hardy and durable leather that develops an exceptional patina with wear. We've carried a handful of other waxed flesh other boots over the years, and it can't be beat for maintainability, comfort, and aging. Though it starts out stiff, the waxed finish makes the leather more resistant to the elements, additionally flattening the surface of the leather into a more smooth and shiny texture. Over time, the wax will wear down and scuff away, revealing the much lighter brown roughout texture of the leather, aging uniquely for each wearer.

As far as leather goes, it's thick and sturdy, starting out noticeably stiff and requiring a few weeks of good wear to really break-in. After that, the leather begins to relax considerably, moulding to take the shape of the wearer's foot and softening at flex points to move more easily.

John Lofgren set out to make the ultimate version of this boot from the very best components - from Mil-spec eyelets and speed hooks to the USA-made Vibram 705 soles and 700 heel. It's finished with a 360 degree Goodyear storm welt that can be rebuilt after wear by any trusted cobbler.

They are built around the same Munson last as used in the originals, which makes for a comfortable, supportive boot.

Its ok.
I purchased 2 jars. 1 for the coffee beans and the other for ground coffee. The vacuum suction system is just ok.

Functional, glass canister.
I like the design, I really like the fact that it’s glass, not plastic. Easy to extract the air out, I don’t have to do an extended work out to pump the valve, easy release. The only thing is the part when I need to open the unit to get my coffee beans out. All you need to do is just twist the lid, the glass container makes me a little nervous, but just grab from the bottom part to open it and it’s fine! I’m happy with it, I might buy again to store more coffee!! Great product though!!

Fits Sage Bambino Plus
Works flawlessly with Sage (Breville) Bambino Plus. It even comes with a straight basket which is an upgrade for the machine! People complaining about the magnets need to use their brains to turn first, pull second.

Magnets holding the back piece fell out. Other than that it works as advertised.

Really Cool
This is actually a well made portafilter. It was such a good idea to be able to have a nice WDT tool built in that doesn’t take up some extra counter space or anything. It minimizes clutter and just was a good idea so you always have it handy. Definitely would recommend.
