It benefits from a perfect finish with quality components and PCB. Based on the legendary EP-3 Echo Machine pre-amp used by Jimmy Page, EVH and Eric Johnson, it will go from the perfect clean boost to the very light OD, with 20dB+ of boost and the possibility of sculpting your sound. With the EP Booster you have maximum harmonics and above all a very beautiful color.
Connected to a pure clean channel, we immediately appreciate its silence and its transparency, proof of the care taken in its manufacturing and design. You won't be lost with the controls, it's a Gain + internal dip switches to adjust frequencies and levels (Default, Unity Gain, Vintage).
With the EP Booster you boost the entire spectrum. You have more bottom end, more roundness, more fluidity and thickness with a slightly forward midrange and thicker, richer highs. On top of that, you have ultra accentuated dynamics with a more massive attack and more nuances.
With the knob at 1:00 p.m. you get a slight grit/drive which will allow you to attack the amp. With an ES335, micro bridge, it's beautiful! Your amp is magnified and you obtain a thick, rich, never aggressive drive tip. Being halfway between clear and OD with a big attack without stiffness is highly appreciable! A point of reference? Listen to These Days - Bon Jovi, the intro is a good reference point.
